No need for me to speak anymore about "the Path to 9/11." ABC aired it. I don't know if they changed anything, nor do I really care. Because if you really want to understand that day, honor the dead, and see who the real heroes in our country are...you should be watching CBS right now and their broadcast of an actual documentary that was being shot about the FDNY when the attacks happened. It is a tribute to what is good in America, to see people responding to this tragedy, looking for people they don't even know, risking their lives and exuding courage.
I want to be angry right now, but I actually feel numb. Five years later, listening to the accounts of the firefighters that risked everything, I still feel numb. I think of how I felt five years ago, incredibly sad, very angry and at the same time proud of the response from our country. I feel it is appropriate, in remembrance of the dead of 9/11, that I not engage in politics, just for one day. Instead, it is with profound sadness that I say to all those who lost their lives, I hope that God has received you all and that you now rest in peace. God Bless.
9/11/2001.
